so i went to best buy explaining my problems knowing i’ll prob need a hard drive and i was right. he recommended me 2 that seem pretty good, the specific one that i liked was the samsung portable ssd t7 shield (2tb), it is on sale for $119. i told this to my mother, obviously i saw the price so i was hoping she would buy it for me in the meantime while i get some shifts to pay for it. but she just brushed it off and started to look on amazon for one for about 70$ and i have a feeling this won’t end well. and last time i didn’t speak up about what i thought i got stuck with a nice but slow computer. i feel like the samsung hard drive would be a great investment bc i am constantly moving with it for school and it seems difficult to damage - but what do y’all think?

Whatever t ssd have the same ssds that go inside computers. Go to computer parts store and get a 2.5 ssd from a manufacture like samsung, crucial, gigabyte etc… And get a sata to usb 3 cable. Congratulations, you have an external ssd drive for cheap.

My go to for computer parts is Newegg. Filter by “sold by Newegg”. I’ve never had problems with all of my computer parts.

    I would recommend two types:

    • Samsung SSD T7 for fast delivery and portability. (Super fast read speed for mass file transfer)

    • LaCie Rugged for long term storage and durability. (Best overall quality and performance)

I travel with my Samsung SSD and when I come back home I dump the photos/videos into my LaCie hard drive.

How about OneDrive. It’s 10$ a month or so for 1Tb. Gives you time to save for something else at the very least
