This is mostly a more philosophical/toilet thoughts topic but…
Does any of you use them? For me, their quality/becoming a living ad aside, I pretty much only use sling straps, and they are just too short for that. Actually I feel it’s pretty crappy they can only be used on the neck, where even an average mirrorless/lens dangling for hours d certainly hurt you, instead of explaining/giving some alternative options new people could be oblivious about.
Isn’t it also a bit odd how manufacturers include just the same strap from their most entry models, up to the multi-thousand dollar flagships? Like, I don’t expect a PD strap with a, dunno 4000D, but wouldn’t you expect better if you a shelling $4000 or something?

I use leather straps, waist level crossed on shoulders like a bag, rather than hanging from the neck. I buy them from this british guy who have been hand making them and selling them on ebay for almost a decade. They wouldn’t be adequate for big dslrs but they’re perfect for mirrorless setups.
They’re very low profile and they’re great to wrap around the hand when they’re not on the shoulders.
It’s a bit silly but always thought oem straps were tacky as hell, besides being super uncomfortable.
