I find that putting people into generally the poses i want, and then joking with them, asking them questions, hav ing a conversation with them while shooting will always elicit the reactions and poses I want.
People who are uncomfortable in front of the camera will always be uncomfortable in front of the camera if they’re also uncomfortable with the person behind it. If you can help them feel comfortable with you they’ll be much more comfortable and easygoing during the shoot.
