Don’t let sensitive people ruin your art, people are way too sensitive these days.

I take pictures of cars at dealerships for a living and $18-$23 an hour is the standard around here (sf bay area). There’s really no reason for a dealership to spend high dollar to have their inventory photographed by a professional with high end equipment honestly. If you know what you’re doing (lighting, composition, etc), you can produce “good enough” quality photos with a smartphone. At the end of the day, the purpose of the inventory photos is to show the customer that the car is on the lot and ready to go…not to be artistic. I wish things were different because I’d be making a lot more money but that’s just how this niche is.

It’s good to take advantage of any resources you have access to but I agree you don’t actually learn until you “do”. I wouldn’t say youtube is ruining photography tho, there are always gonna be people who “know the book inside and out” but don’t actually know how to apply that information into their work.
