So was really psyched about Aftershoot AI culling when i first heard of it. Downloaded it to give the trial a shot. But unfortunately the past few weeks, just not impressed with its culling abilities and finding myself having to manually cull through all the photos anyways.

The photos it selects as selected (5 stars) still have many blurred shots or even shots with no subject that I would have thought would have been immediately discarded. Ive tried adjusting the the settings to be sports photography and to select as few as possible, but not happy with the results ever… tbh its kind of ridiculous how some shots are even rated 5 stars when some images are blurred from accidental presses while facing a random spot like the ground while moving with the camera.

the trial is coming to an end soon, and I was hoping this would solve my problem of culling thousands of pictures thst i take for events each week, but looks like i will need to continue searching for something better now.

any advice or alternative software you recommend?

There is nothing intelligent about “A.I.” and letting it make decisions for you is a recipe for disaster.

Sometimes the mistake makes the photo rather than breaks it.

You already have something better. It is usually located somewhere between the keyboard of your computer and your chair.

So to repeat the advice you’ve already been given - do your own culling. Not only are you actually intelligent about your selections, but you’ll be able to recognize what no “A.I.” can - the potential in an otherwise flawed image.

Yea culling is work - it’s a grind - but that’s why it’s called work in the first place.
