I got a printed picture from one of those photo booth machine and I don’t want my picture to fade over time. I have those self-adhesive laminating sheets that I want to use. Is it okay to laminate the picture without destroying the quality/color of it?

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place. I’m a reddit newbie.

If you’re displaying your photo, your biggest problem is uv in sunlight. Have a look at the link below.

If you’re storing it in a photo album make sure that the album is acid free. And keep the album in a cool clean dry place… Not a basement or attic.

I wouldn’t bother laminating the photo as the pouches degrade over time anyways. I have some colour family snaps from the 70’s that don’t look like they’ve faded… They had no special storage… Just in the original paper pouches. I also have a b&w photo of my nan that was taken around 1930 which still looks great… That was just kept in its original card photo frame in a box at my grandparents house.
