Right now there is a storm in Greece and I want to try to take a picture of lightning. Idk how though.

The first step is to go onto a rooftop to get a good vantage point, then you want to hold up the phone as high up as you can over your head, then point it up and wait

Without some kind of sensor to open the shutter at the right time, tough.

Some options I can think of

    • shoot a HD video and extract a frame out of it
    • shoot a burst and if you’re lucky you will get lightning in one of the pics
    • set up a timelapse and hope one of the pics has the lightning
    • long exposure

maybe try app like Halide to control the shutter… but its going to be tough to do.

a dedicated camera is what i use

    v. slow shutter speed. and i shoot a hundred photos to get one good one.

    this was shot at 1.3 seconds… on a tripod… used interval timer… i probably shot 500 photos… 2 or 3 were ok… and this one
