I am an autistic woman who has body dysmorphia so I struggle with seeing myself the way others see me.

Today for the first time I hired a local established photographer who had a studio in their tattoo shop to go artsy boudoir style photos. My question is, Is it normal for photographers to get so excited when taking pictures that they get out of breath? The photographer identifies as a cis gendered, heteronormative woman, as do I.

And while taking photos, she kept getting so giggly and out of breath. I was curious if that’s a normal response to being proud about your work in photography?

I’m a fat boudoir photographer, but in decent enough shape from my job and hobbies. From time to time I will get winded from a combo of excitement, talking and directing my subject and holding weird positions/angles to get the perfect shot.

I personally do get nervous during certain shoots and end up being a little out of breath. Usually suggestive type photos because the entire time I’m concerned on making sure my models are comfortable and I’m not pushing boundaries. If the photos are coming out really great then yeah I’ll be a little excited but that’s entirely separate from the anxiety.
