I’ve been printing out my photos for years and displaying them on our walls. My gallery wall is running out of space! My husband suggested maybe getting a digital photo frame. I’d love a big one though. Is see that the Aura seems to be the best but it seems small. Are there any bigger ones that are actually good quality? Also, should I be worried about security?

Personally I made my own from an old TV and a raspberry pi. There is a python program that handles the display. We love it. It gets turned on basically every night. We are photographers so we have thousands of pictures from decades of adventures on it.
Looks great. Now if only this wasn’t a cloud thing…
Looks like it’s currently sold out on their website (not sure if it’s available somewhere else like Amazon), but Aura has a frame with a 15” screen. How big are you looking for?
They also have 10.1” frames in stock (these are measured like displays, so this is the diagonal measurement of the screen).
A suitable-sized computer monitor and a raspberry pi to run the slideshow.
For me the only way would be an e-ink panel. I wouldn’t like a screen constantly glowing in the dark and so on (+we have high prices for electricity here). Actually, I just googled for a solution foyr this, but most of them are really small + black and white, which would be fine though. I found ionnyk, but the prices are insane. That’s why I will stick for prints
I use an old Android Samsung 10" tablet that I have, but you can bought a low price 10" android tablet , just make sure it support a SDcard to store your photos.
Mine runs a very obsolete Android 4 something, very low specs for a modern tablet but to run just one app it is fine.
On the tablet I’ve installed a program named Fotoo - Photo Frame SlideShow it can show photos from internal memory, sdcard, Google Photos, DropBox and has several transition effects, option to display date/time.
About 3 years ago, I bought a 24 inch viewsonic VP2468 for $207 from Best buy and a Raspberry Pi Zero W (and installed dakboard) for $35 from Amazon.

It’s “only” 1080p, but the reality is it’s wall mounted so you don’t get that close to it. It’s more than sufficient in resolution. Color accuracy and good viewing angles are far more important. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever bought. At the time, I had to convince the wife it wouldn’t look cheesy.
If it ever broke, I’d go bigger for sure. I looked at some of the other recommendations and $600 for a 32 inch is fairly reasonable, since it’s pretty idiotproof. If you buy a monitor you want one with a very clean outside look (no buttons, ideally no logo) so it kinda looks like a picture frame.
I need to set up another frame for a relative’s place, not sure what I’m going to get. Getting a real big one and going wall mount is 100% the way to go, imho.
