I always pack it with me and definitely use it at events I shoot, but depending upon how packed the event is and where your vantage point is, it may become problematic to fit the subjects in frame.

A 50mm will be better for mostly single person shots. The f4 24-105 would probably be more versatile.

You’ll need something wider for groups and have to stop it down to get everyone in focus so good lighting and/or high ISO will be key.

Well, what kind of even? Probably not tho, 50mm is a bit too tight. A standard zoom would be nicer and maybe even a flash

If it’s indoor prob not for 2 reasons: 1.8 autofocus tends to struggle in low light and the focal length won’t be wide enough. If it’s outdoors should be fine.

Yes. You can get the coolest event photos with it combined with an off camera flash with a small soft box kept in left hand. You already have 24-105 for group shots indoor so 50mm 1.2/1.4/1.8 makes your set complete.
