Hey , I bought this photo way back and just love the style of it - how it’s a “floating head”… but I’ve always wondered how I could achieve this same outcome (what gear or settings would I need to setup) . It’s an all black background with just the head present , very detailed and almost monochromatic (but with grays, blacks, skintones, whites)
Similar to this idea, but much more detailed and focused on the face and less harsh lighting…
I’m a newbie, I have a decent camera? And just never know what to search when looking for techniques to do this .
You might like to search for “low key” (there is also “high key”).
Monochrome photographs have shades of grey and one other colour, like your example. (This surprised me when I first heard about it. I think it is because the greys are not considered to be colours.)
